Welcome to Marlboro House. Before we begin, we would like you to know that smoking is not permitted within the house or on the grounds. You will also see that several rooms have been roped off. Please do not go into them and sit on the furniture, since much of it is quite old and delicate. If you have any questions as I am speaking, please feel free to ask. Now, Marlboro House was built in 1787 by William Marlboro, who had just arrived in the United States from England. However, it was much smaller at that time, consisting of a sitting room, a kitchen and four bedrooms. As you can see, the house is now much larger from additions that were made in 1795, 1810, and 1855. Here in the living room you can see the beautiful furniture that was imported from France and Italy.
