Recently, a university in China has conducted a survey about “Whether we should help old people get up when they fall down” among their students.
The survey shows that 78.8% of the students offered a positive answer. They think helping others, especially those who are in trouble, is a Chinese traditional virtue. But 21.2% of them are unwilling to help those old people who fall down. Some think they lack medical knowledge, so they can’t give them help, or that may even cause further injuries. The others are afraid of extra trouble. For example, they are afraid they are cheated.
In my opinion, we should make every effort to help old people when they fall down. It’s our responsibility to help others, especially the old and the young. It doesn’t matter whether we lack medical knowledge, for we can call their family or 120.
