  Last month a lecture with the theme of “sitting for too long is bad for people’s health” was delivered by Professor Zhang, a health expert.

With the rapid development of TV(s) and computer(s), many people，especially office workers and students, spend more and more time in sitting, which has a bad effect on their health. Not only can this habit make your neck and back ache, but it may make you fat, increase the risk of heart disease and even death. To prevent these problems from happening, Professor Zhang pointed out that people should form good living habits, such as going to school and work on foot or by bike and standing while talking on the phone. He particularly reminded the students to stand up and take some exercise during break time at school. (或do some activities between classes )

The story is about Pearlman, an unemployed man, who got a job and succeeded in his life. The boss, Freddy, offered him the precious second chance because Pearlman himself never lost courage and hope to life.

Pearlman’s experience makes me realize that sometimes we have to go through hardship and endure poor situations, but as long as we cling to hope and face the difficulties with courage, we may get another chance to make ourselves successful. On the contrary, he spent a year working on English day and night and his efforts finally paid off. A year later, he fulfilled his dream. 

As a young student, I have a long way to go, and it can’t be always smooth. However difficult the life will be, I’ll never lose heart. I’m sure if I stick to my dream, I’ll certainly have my own “second chance”.
