1. W: Thanks for picking me up to the hotel, Paul.

M: You are welcome, Mary. You are working with our company, so we’re friends and family. Have a good rest.

    How’s it going, my friend? Man, everything is so different here. I have no friends and no dogs. We had to give him away. I feel so lonely every time I go inside my house. I’ve been thinking about all those good times we had, playing soccer during lunch, and practicing martial arts in the afternoon. Lunch here is so boring — we just get our food and sit. However, I met a kid named Ricardo who is like you — he likes to play soccer. I’ve started practicing with him to get in shape for try-outs. I really want to join the team so I can keep busy and feel comfortable. I’ll be glad to have someone to be my partner at practice. Well, enough about me. My parents wanted to know if you’d be able to come for a visit. I hope so.
