W: Oh, hello. I read about your club in the paper today and I thought I’d phone to find out a bit more.

M: Yes, certainly, well, we’re a sort of social club for people from different countries. It’s quite a new club — we have about 50 members at the moment, but we’re growing all the time.

W: That sounds interesting.

M: Well, I was working out in the club, and I had put my things in the cupboard. But I’d forgotten to lock the cupboard.

W: Good morning. My cousin and I just arrived. We were wondering if it’s too late to change our seats to business class ones.

W: That’s fine with me, but I should check with my cousin before I pay for them.

M: That’s exactly why they e-mailed the rest of the staff yesterday. They want new ideas. Did they say why they decided to change it? I thought the old symbol was quite good.

W: Well, people did think it was simple but impressive. However, the marketing department was concerned about the color of the symbol. They want a brighter color design with a more modern look in order to attract more customers.

M: It’s Megan Jones.

W: Well, I was just kind of joking a little bit with her.

M: Well, yeah, that’s what you think, but other kids follow your example. Megan’s been really, really anxious for some time.

W: Uh, I’m really sorry. Could you see if you can bring her to school tomorrow? Uh, I’d like to apologize and see what I can do to improve the situation.

M: Thanks. I’d appreciate it. That would help.

W: I took my first trip to Ogunquit this past week with a friend. I decided on the Admiral’s Inn after seeing a few pictures on their website. I called the hotel directly to reserve a room, and the gentleman on the other end was very pleasant.

On travel day, we hit more traffic than expected. We called to let the hotel know that we would be a late check-in, and they were fine with it, stating that someone would be at the front desk until at least midnight. We finally made it by 11:30 p.m. Marty at the front counter was fantastic when we arrived. He gave us an overview of the town, what to see, what to do, how to get around. 

The hotel itself was perfect for us. The room was really spacious. There was a small mini fridge that worked great. The bathroom was clean and also spacious. My only real dissatisfaction with the room is that the main window has thick curtains which work wonderfully, but there’s no privacy curtains. If you want any natural light in the room, you become completely exposed to anyone walking by. A soft white curtain added under the current thick curtains would be perfect.
